Doing Cannes Lions, Simba style
So here is a video (and some pictures) from my first “Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity”. I really wonder who came up with that name… it’s like how many words can we fit into one sentence in order to make it sound important. Enough hate though, the festival itself is really cool. I was representing Czech Republic in the Young Lions competitions: print category. Unfortunately we didn’t place in the Mad Men Olympics, but there was still a lot of really amazing work exhibited at the festival (even some of the scam work was quite nice). After being locked away in a basement for two days for the competition, my days consisted of: Hungover swimming in the mornings, Croissants and cheeses who’s names I can’t pronounce, going to watch talks by people like David Droga (Founder of Droga 5), Shane Smith (Founder of VICE) & Alejandro González Iñárritu (you should know who that is), then the awards ceremonies followed by amazing-fresh-unexplainably-good-overpriced seafood, going to some party where they were showering us in free rose and finally ending up at gutter bar at 2 in the morning where you make up for all the free drinks you had earlier. Viva la France!
